Preschoolers and new technologies
A study by the Kaiser Foundation finds that children are using a range of new technologies more often and at younger ages than assumed previously. The report has a range of really interesting facts about preschoolers and the electronic media in their lives; for exmaple, 7% of the 0-6 year old kids in the study had a computer in their bedroom. I need to read the report mroe thoroughly to see what analyses they offer along socieconomic lines....
A social ecology of wireless technology
The Critical Friends of Technology is a small, informal group of researchers who are "interested in promoting a holistic understanding of the benefits, possible adverse effects, and unintended consequences of different kinds of information and communications technology". They have published an article that weighs up the benefits and risks of wireless technologies for developing countries, the environment and for personal health.
